Bathroom - Insulation

The insulators spray-foamed the bathroom this morning. It's been about five weeks since I demo'd the room and removed all the insulation, it was nice today to come home and not feel drafts.

Here's a couple of the before:

Bathroom - Plumbing and Electrical

Electrician finished the rough-in for outlets, sconces, exhaust fan, and overhead light. The plumber has the drain and vent all finished and the water lines are roughed-in. Still waiting for a pressure balancer for the shower, once that is in the plumber will connect the water lines.
Framing for the medicine cabinet and sconces roughed-in next to it.

Vent stack, overhead light, and exhaust fan.

Future throne

This is the spaghetti mess that has become our cellar.

Next step is to have the framing inspected and then hopefully Friday the room will be insulated. Then a insulation inspection and we can start sheetrock.

Bathroom - Demo and Framing

Finally got to work on the bathroom.

Here's the before pictures.

Everything gutted

I found an old wasp nest up here. Repairs were made to the outside, but the inside framing was left as is. The wasps chewed up the top plate.

New header put in over window.

Header for pocket door

New wall for shower stall.

Hopefully next week the plumbing will start his rough-in

French Doors

Finally got the french doors in the living room stripped, stained/painted, and hung. These were removed sometime in the 1950s by the previous owner and have been sitting in the garage attic since.

I pulled them out this summer and slowly worked on removing the old pink paint and getting them ready for stain and paint.

Karina's dad came and helped cut the mortise for the hinges. Luckily they just patched the old mortise when the doors were removed so he only need to remove the patch and the old hinge fit back into place.

Sunroom side.
