Sloane's room - upper sashes

Getting faster, took about an hour for both.

First sash installed

Upper sash in the living reinstalled with new sash cord. #1 of 10. Took about in hour; integrated weather strip pain to reinstall.

Windows cleaned

The putty residue is now cleaned off all windows. Hopefully upper sashes will be installed tomorrow nite.

Windows painted

Interior and exterior painted and cleaned up. Parting stops painted/stained.

Putty

Had to move the operation inside as fall is definately here.  Last Monday I started putting the glass and putty back in.  Puttying is going much better this time and I have 5 of 10 sashes complete.  Takes me about 2 hours to set the glass, set the glazing points, clean the inside putty mess, and tool the outside putty.  Not breaking any records but much faster and smoother than my first go-around.

 

A neighbor down the street replaced all their windows with "maintenance free" vinyl, we'll see whose windows are still around 50 years from now.
