Ultrasound II

Here's pictures from the latest ultrasound. The doctor said everything is looking good, the baby won't cooperate and show his/her face so they still havn't got a good face picture. Karina still thinks its a boy.

Here's latest ultrasound pictures.

Baby's Room

We've started to get the baby room decorated. We had an ultrasound a week ago, everything went well. The baby's now 8 oz (50th percetile) and looks way bigger than the first one. We could see the heart beating, arms and legs moving! We didn't get a good picture of the face, so we will probably get another ultrasound in the next couple weeks.

Next week Karina will be half way done, which is crazy! Due date is still April 21st.

Here's a picture of the baby crib my parents bought us. This is where the baby will get a full 12 hours of uninterupted sleep every night.

Here's the matching changing table/dresser. We're hoping the baby comes out potty trained so that we will only use this as a dresser.

This is the first room with curtains, that's a big step for us. Two down, 28 more to go.

Stairs

Finally got the spindles and banister stained and put back together tonight.

Here's the starting point a year and half ago.

Kitchen

Here's some before and after pictures of the kitchen floor. The linoleom removal in this room was the worst of the house, took me about 6 nights after work. This room doesn't have finished hardwood floors, just rough cut fir sub-floor.

We lived with a drop cloth for two weeks.

We used a natural finish. The back breakfast nook addition has plywood subfloor, eventually I will cover that with a sheet of vinyl.

Here's our new wood buring fireplace insert. This actually heats up the room, as I'm typing this I'm considering taking off my sweatshirt which would be a first! We can only burn small fires to break it in, after that I will be able to fill it and get the house to 75 degrees!

The main floors are now complete! Today we got everything cleaned up from all the sanding and the our furniture moved back in...the days of moving our furniture from room to room should now be over.

We've now been living in the house for almost one year, here's a reminder of how it looked with we bought the house.

Here's some pictures of before we stared sanding.

Floors sanded to bare wood

Cheap labor!

Finished stairs and floors. Still have to finish the banister and spindles.

In the next couple months we hope to get wallpaper up in the sun and dining rooms, paint the sun room trim, paint the upstairs built-in, and some general touchups...the end is nearing :)

Finished Upstairs Floors

We finished the upstairs floors this weekend! We went with a natural oil finish so the maple floors have a golden color.

Here's a couple pics after the all the edges were sanded

Here's the finished floors after three coats of oil finish.

Maple Floors

We moved everything from the upstairs to the main floor and finally started working on the refinishing the maple floors. We've got the main parts of the upstairs all sanded to the bare wood and next we rent an edger to finish the edges and doorways.

Maple floors apparently are very difficult to stain evenly, because of that and that we really like how the light floors brighten the rooms, we are going to keep them natural.
