Here's some before and after pictures of the kitchen floor. The linoleom removal in this room was the worst of the house, took me about 6 nights after work. This room doesn't have finished hardwood floors, just rough cut fir sub-floor.

We lived with a drop cloth for two weeks.
We used a natural finish. The back breakfast nook addition has plywood subfloor, eventually I will cover that with a sheet of vinyl.

Here's our new wood buring fireplace insert. This actually heats up the room, as I'm typing this I'm considering taking off my sweatshirt which would be a first! We can only burn small fires to break it in, after that I will be able to fill it and get the house to 75 degrees!
